How to stay fit on the Fourth!
Ah, the fourth of july. A time to skip your workout, chill out by a body of water, and drink/eat as many beers and hot dogs as your body allows. Right?
Right! ... OH that's probably not what you were expecting...
Seriously everyone, have fun on a holiday (if you aren't working, of course). Being healthy is not just about how you eat or how you workout, it's also about balance and allowing yourself to just be happy. Just because you are trying to maybe shed some pounds or get in better shape doesn't mean you have to cut fun time out of your life. ALSO it's been proven that having a strong sense of community actually improves your health due to decreased stress (going to search for this study, it's out there I promise). That means friend time is just as important as gym time in the long term.
I just want to point out though, I'm saying this is ok every once in a while. Of course going out to the bar and getting woo-girl wasted every friday night is not a great way to treat your body or your brain. But once every few months (in my opinion) is perfectly fine.
So have fun today, get your tan on, sing some country music, enjoy an adult beverage if you're of age, and relax!
The gym will be there tomorrow. And so will we.
